The Holy Quran is the eternal miracle given to Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). Unlike the miracles of previous prophets, which were limited to their own time, the Quran remains a challenge and guidance for all ages.
Linguistic Miracles
The Arabic of the Quran is unique=it is neither poetry nor prose, yet it possesses a rhythm and power that moved the hearts of even the fiercest enemies of Islam. The Quran challenged the Arabs (the masters of eloquence) to produce even a single surah like it, and they failed.
Scientific Miracles
The Quran mentions facts that were undiscovered by science until the last century. For example:
- Embryology: Detailed descriptions of the stages of human development in the womb.
- Expanding Universe: References to the expansion of the heavens (Universe).
- Deep Seas: Mention of darkness and waves in the deep oceans.
"We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth." (Surah Fussilat, 41:53)
The Shia Interpretation
According to the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (a.s), the Quran has both outer (zahir) and inner (batin) meanings. They are the "Speaking Quran" (Al-Quran al-Natiq), and their guidance is essential for unlocking the deeper wisdom of the "Silent Quran" (the written text).
